The village is close to Saumur, Angers, Tours, Chinon and many Loire chateaux, the Abbey Fontervraud, restaurants, and wineries. Le Puy Notre Dame is an authentic French village.  A restaurant, bakery, tabac, bar, epicerie, and pharmacy are a short walk in the village.  You can easily take quiet walks in the adjacent vineyards and surrounding countryside.

This is a classic stone building with more than 200 square meters of finished living space. The chateau has a warm and historic ambiance with high ceilings and attractive functionality.  The living room, kitchen and dining room are each about 30 square meters, as well as two of the four bedrooms. Three of the five bath/shower rooms are ensuite.

Le Puy Notre Dame is formally classified as one of France’s “Petite Villages de Charme” and a “Cité de Caractère”. The village has been a center of viticulture for over a thousand years. Over 90 kilometers of caves and tunnels exist under the village, many of which are still used today for wine storage. Portions of the old wall that formerly surrounded the village still remain. The church was on the medieval Road to Santiago de Compostela, and a destination by pilgrims for a relic of the Virgin Mary, which still resides in the church.  Pilgrims are said to have staid in the property.
